On route to Mission Beach we travelled through Cardwell. In 2011 Cardwell was hit by cyclone Yasi. Looking at it today with the establishment of the new coastal walk you wouldn't recognise the place. The small township is set along the coastal road and faces the ocean. We'll stay here next time.

It was a humid day so after getting organised we hit the pool which is ten paces from our van. We have been looking forward to resting here for the next ...

The buses run every 45 minutes, and are timed exactly with the ferries, so as soon as a ferry arrives, ...

... the top of the Tully River. There were two Englishmen on the trip with us, one a young backpacker and the other a Dr doing time at Tully hospital. Both had a great sense of humour and questioned us as to whether we were on the right bus……”weren't we meant to be on the bus going to the butterfly farm…..?” they asked. We soon shut them up by asking how England were going in the soccer world cup? Both of them had ...

We love it here so much that we have extended our stay to 2 weeks. Everyone is very friendly, and we have had a couple of meals at the local pub with our NBFs, plus a couple of great happy hours. Had a lovely drive to Tully Gorge and even though it was a drizzly day, the scenery was breathtaking! Yesterday we finally got to ...
