... full of nervous first time jumpers it'd be a very different feeling! We approached the airfield and saw our plane which was tiny! It took us about 20 minutes to climb to the 14,000 feet we'd be jumping out of the plane from. ... from Germany. There was power for all of Paronella park 20 years before there was power in Innesfail. Jose died in his 60's and eventually the park was sold and over the years has suffered cyclone and fire damage. The present owners appear to have a vision like Jose and are redeveloping the park, uncovering paths and repairing buildings. The hydro turbine has been refurbished to supply the parks power.
Today we drove to Mission Beach. It was an absolutely magical morning and we parked up about 1.5 kms from South Mission Beach. We drove down to the beach for breakfast and parked the Mother Ship on the side of the road right next to the beach. De plek waar we nu zijn is erg mooi en zo'n 100 meter van het strand. Hopelijk schijnt de zon morgen weer.
Na de set up en een wandeling door de straat van mission beach was het tijd voor happy hour. Lekker ijs gekoelde biertjes in de regen "beer o'clock".

So we took a few circuits of the island, checking out each beach - all lovely - and swam in several. The most developed town was called Horseshoe Bay, much nicer than the previous Horseshoe Bay, and we had a lovely lunch there.
