        We were taken to four different wineries where we tasted at least 5-6 wines each time, sometimes more. Zinfandels, Merlots, Pinots... but to be honest, they all tasted much of a muchness to me. I stuck to the reds, apart from one white at Christopher Creek, which had a really unusual flavour and was quite nice.

        Whenever I have encountered road rage even when not directed at me, I have found it very intimidating and try and steer well clear. Here it was more tricky, and the clouds of black smoke he produced as he accelerated fast was amazing.

        Another car did exactly the same... but the pick-up in the outside lane seemed to let him pass, but held firm to his position in the outside lane. He was driving with his arm draped over a girl in the middle ...

        Horse classes started early with, what appeared to us, to be based on time and performance. We mostly waited for the Aubrey Grace class. Jen, her mom, and Zoey gave the award to the winner.

        We camped at the KOA, just down from Clayton and Jen. We did some veggies on the BBQ for dinner. We were not very hungry, but BBQ was good and good ...

        ... This winery has underground caves that are still used for storing wine barrels today and a spectacular home that was built for one of the Beringer brothers. Then on to Sutter Home Winery in which the tasting room is housed in the original winery built in 1874. Again, more beautiful gardens and a gorgeous Victorian home that was built for the vintner. Our last stop was the Robert Mondavi Winery, with another dramatic view of the Valley ...
