... 8217;d have time to make it. Wifi was a bit scarce on the Gilis (hence the delay in updating the blog!), so once we arrived in Lombok we thought we’d see if it was even possible to change our Borneo flights and try and book ourselves onto a Komodo trip. And so our mini-saga began…

We have previously had the odd hiccup / spot of bad luck with our itinerary to date, so we decided to get organised and plan our journey a bit better; in Gili T ...

A travel blog entry by niomioconnor on May 29, 2014

After a nice sleep in the big comfy bed in our amazing hotel we had a relaxed breakfast and then spent the morning chilling by the pool. We had to check out of our room by twelve so I had to pack my things and then we left our bags in the hotel lobby while we tried to figure out how we could get to Senaru, our next stop. ... dive site in Gilli and it's true! It was awesome! We dived down to about 31 metres where we saw sting rays and white tipped reef sharks and how could I forget the enormous turtle who was happy to pose for photos with us :) I have now decided what to do for the rest of the time I'm in Indonesia- climb Mount Rinjani with Danielle and then take the 4 day boat cruise via Komodo down to Flores. Fly Flores to Bali in time to catch my flight to ...

... I had managed to catch one coming up for air. We were so proud of Millie for just jumping in and giving it a go. I have a real dislike of deep water, it freaks me out. But when we stopped on Gili Meno for lunch I decided to have a little snorkel as Ru was sleeping on the sand. I caught sight of 2 glorious turtles who seemed to playfully chase each other. Their shells are almost luminous. I followed them and was so engrossed I didn't freak out at all when I realised ...
