      ... past bison, pronghorn antelope and endless rolling hills. Then we continued on to a winding car sickness road. Uughh. After a few close calls (nobody threw up thank goodness) we stopped for a burger at a restaurant/lodge. We then continued on more winding roads to Mount Rushmore.       ... a nicer day. I passed through a lot of range land, mostly hills and humps, much like you see around Ashcroft and Cache Creek, but miles and hours of it, with hay fields here and there. I passed several herds of pronghorns and saw a lot of cattle and horses and very few buildings, clearly in ranching country … and dotted throughout were poplar trees, golden and shining in the sunlight.

      Wile we were visiting with our cousin Judy from Thompson Falls. the weather report came in as cold with rain and possible snow. We decided that a tactical retreat was in our best interest. We got the camp busted and we were on our way by 4:45 The bed at the Big Sky motel felt really good. We had dinner at the Busy Bee cafe and found out we were on the front page of the Roundup Record .       ...1) Remove all of the asphalt on both sides of the road for miles. 2) Put up signs announcing: Bump Ahead! Gravel Road! WAIT for Pilot Car...then repeat!

      We have had an interesting day. We woke up well rested a little later than usual, pulling out of camp at 9:15 into a beautiful Montana morning at 73 degrees with 22%25 humidity. Just doesn't get any better...and it didn't!!
