... seem to be very labour intensive . Many people were working in the fields. We took the 101 for a short while then the 154 towards Santa Barbara and stopped at Lake Cachuma and the Bradbury Dam . everything here is named after someone! Our hotel is only a couple of blocks from the beach, harbour and Stearns Wharf where we ate in the aptly named Moby Dick!! Miles today - 237 and the temperature went over 100!! Sunset is getting earlier each ...

We spent the remainder of the day wandering through the beautiful shops in State ...

... justice to the joint. Massive. The views from up top, just spectacular. From there it took another couple of hours (quite tame compared to the morning's drive) to arrive at our destination of Santa Barbara. Like we've done all holiday, we struck good on the accommodation front, more than happy with our suite here at the Brisas del Mar Inn. After munching on some Mexican takeout, we've decided to have a quiet night in tonight - we'll see what SB has to offer ...

... state ID. Eventually we calmed the woman and explained it to her and she relinquished the passport and the beer...Laura bought some Newcastle Brown Pale Ale, which we apparently don't have in the UK. We were on the road for a bit and then Graeme pulled up to a beautiful beach that was only slightly packed out with people. He gave us a couple of hours to just chill out and enjoy the beach and the water. Most of the girls immediately stripped into bikinis ...
