Bill: We have played golf four times now. This time we found the Palmilla Beach Golf Club, a new resort course just near the Mustang Island State Park where we stayed this week. This round was a special treat—ocean side views, rolling sand dunes, and we both played great. The Head Pro was very accommodating, the course was immaculate, the staff knowledgeable and informative, and I only lost one golf ball.

After a brief time, we continued on our way to the main area. This is where the professionals were working. I was kind of disappointed since they all were still sculpting. Guess tomorrow is when they will be finished. I think they are working throughout the night to finish them, but I think I got some good pictures anyway.

... luncheon at 11:30. Don't know why it's called the Red Hat/ROMEO luncheon. The ROMEO part is "Retired Old Men Eating Out", so that fits, but no one wears a red hat. ... By that time it was almost "Attitude Adjustment" time, so we packed up our dishes and over we went. The rally hall is basically out of our back door (if we had a back door).

port Aransas was very different than south padre island. port Aransas is "rounder", like a half moon, it feels bigger than spi although i'm not sure it is. in spi you can almost see from one side of the gulf to the bay, port Aransas isn't like that. it's not the "strip" that spi is. and there is no town center to speak of but many little areas with a few shops and restaurants throughout the town. the birding center here has ...
