    ... other and couldn't believe how much fun this was. Even better than a roller coaster! I knew at once that this was the far better way for an inexperienced operator to ride the dunes. As an experienced driver, he could run full speed up the dune, and he knew what would be on the other side.     ... took a second drive through the park, with Suzi driving the second time so I could enjoy the park.

    After the park visit, we drove another 20 miles south to the Seven Feathers Casino to take advantage of their "all you can eat" crab feed at the buffett. Prior to dinner, I hit a small win for $100 to make the day a plus.

    Spending time with family is always a good time, and this trip made it even better. Life is good.

    It was a beautiful day for a drive. The traffic cooperated and the total travel time was about 3 1/2 hours, with several stops enroute to stretch the legs. We passed Eugene and were just ahead of Lee and Claudia, when we stopped for gas in Roseburg. Pulling back on to the freeway, I saw Lee and Claudia drive by. We caught up with them at the next rest stop and traveled the last 10 miles or so ...
