... the main area, the disappointment continued. Rooms are old and small. Bathroom is particularly disappointing. The room safe is small and the lock physically comes out in order to open it. Everything is key opened and there's a steep charge if you lose the key(s.) paint is coming off the walls in the bathroom. For $6000+ per week, my optimism is fading fast. Let's hope the week dramatically ...

... wares so obviously this beach is controlled by either cops or tourist bureau. No beggers!!

Had a couple of fruity beverages and then Red Stripe. Also grabbed lunch at the restaurant on the beach. Each order something different and share - get lots of flavour - taking advantage of jerk meals. We are both figuring Jerk = Salt - holy salty foods.

Had an excellent beach day and did pretty much the same thing the following day. I stayed in the shade a bit ...

... families. Gonna keep it simple and just stick to family this time around. Found a local convenience store en-route to/from our hotel to the main road and utilize that a lot. Red Stripe is pretty cheap and nummy! Good beer and she'll be chilling in our fridge.

My goodness it's obvious we've traveled before - had all of our supplies and gifts all within two hours of arriving! Good to go and ready for the night to unfold (and what a night!!).

Decided to walk for a bit ...

"I would like to make some observations, comparing what I see from these Jamaican experiences with some of what I know of the Haitian experience. After all, the two countries are so very close geographically that it seems appropriate.

My first observation is that the Jamaican children are equally captivating! Who can resist???
