The day I was turning everyone's head

But it was definitely not in a way that I would want. We arrived in Polignano a Mare and I was still feeling miserable from whatever illness I had contracted, so moving just wasn't a thing that was going to happen. So, I gave my roommates a list of a couple things to pick up for me when they went to the grocery store. Meanwhile, I laid on the couch and started going through the apartment's expansive DVD collection, which included 8 Mile ...

    To Bari

Taxi to train station 10 euro, 5 mins. Ticket to Bari 5.60 euro, (almost 2 hours- slow train). Go figure. The trains in this neck of the woods are not Tren Italia. They're run privately and are not the most comfortable trains. The first half was fine, pretty countryside etc. And then a roma family (I think), like gypsys, got on. They must have been to a trash or treasure market cause they had all this stuff. Toasters, clothes, ...

... wandering round. Not sleazy, it's just what they do. They're all nicely dressed. All quite short. Maybe that's where my height comes from, must be the Italian heritage. Day 4. Washing day today. Things dry well with the radiator things here. Got a bit more onward accommodation booked. It's getting busier and more expensive. Lunch at my restaurant again then packing up my case. It's getting fuller and heavier! What a surprise. Off to Bari tomorrow for 2 ...

... had lunch at the same place again. This time I had broad beans (which were puréed) (delicious) and they came with some roasted thin peppers drizzled with olive oil and salt, and some cooked greens (that was my primo course). I also had a second primo course instead of a secondo course which was potato gnocchi with cheese and black pepper (a little too salty for my palate). Plus my trusty 250ml of wine (wine costs ...

... s bloody cold! My air BnB host Enrico is there to pick me up. We drive to the self contained apartment, which is beautiful. The problem is that it's in the old town (no cars in there) so we park and walk to it. It's like a rabbit warren in there. I'll never find my way out (or back to the unit)! He's left a bit of food for me so I'm not going out there tonight. I'll wait till tomorrow when hopefully it won't be raining and I've got more hours to find my way back if I get ...
