... about 20 US dollars. Even though I went
into wanted a relaxing Swedish massage like my mom gives (the best), I
must say I felt so much better after he was done. He actually cracked

... that the TITLE of the movie was ¨men with guns¨ but everyone at the pirated movie stands kept pulling out movies that had men who possessed guns. ¨Man on fire¨ was a popular choice, as well as ¨Rambo¨ and ¨blackhawk down¨. Look, look! Men with Guns! Not what I was looking for. Anyhow EVERYONE had to get in on the action, before I know it there are five or six stalls worth of people feverishly searching through all the movies to find movies with men and guns. People that ...
San Pedro La Laguna, Western Highlands, Guatemala katywade... turned up! It was great! Thanks to my e-mail advise they had actually managed to get away with paying just 10 Q - howcome I couldn't do that?
Saturday night La Iguana has a great tradition of having all the guests and employees dress up - preferably cross-dressing. The owners bought some old clothes from a vintage store and there is loads to choose from. I ended up in some ugly clothes, but as I did not really look like a man, I decided that my alter ...

It is a one bed room with a kitchen, dinning room, and living room and of course a bath room. It is on the second floor and has a wall of windows with a great view. There are tile floors thought out the place and a tile bathroom.
It is right next door to my School and it is only 350.00 a month daring the slow season.
... lengths. And we both found some good items! For 5Q a piece (about 70 cents), I bought: a long summery blue and purple dress and 5 shirts, plus GAP pants for about $2. During our fishing, we came cross a wonderfully ridiculous purple, yellow, and green nylon jumpsuit jacket that instantly reminded me of Fresh Prince of Bel Air. We also found T shirts with "D.A.R.E.", "Top 10 Reasons You know you are from Woodmont High School ...
Solola, Escuintla, Guatemala yoomster... outcrop so that almost everyone has a lakeside view (even our 'economy’ room – sharing a bathroom and toilet between three). The surrounding cliff is covered in beautiful gardens with lots of little patios and plenty of hammocks. There is a swimming terrace where the patios make their way down into the water – and a hot tub that can be rented. On top of this there is delicious food and ...
Jaibalito, Western Highlands, Guatemala sarahelectiveWe had set our alarms for 730am as brekky was at ocho (eight!). We didn't have showers as there were huge buckets full of water sitting in there so a quick face wash it was. In the kitchen we offered our help but go a lot of no no no's so Lucy and I sat down and waited. Maria cooked us up some scrambled eggs with tomatoes and onion with tortillas. After cleaning up we got ready to head down the street to see what Julia and Teryn were up too. They were deciding ...
San Jorge La Laguna, Sololá, Guatemala chooklottoWe were meant to go to Panajachel on the chicken bus but a guy on a previous trip was robbed so we had our own mini-van. A few of us went to the bagel/brekky place across the road from our hotel for a quick bite before we all met just before 9am. We stored the bags we didn't need to take and set off on the 2 1/2 hr road trip. The journey was windy, up one hill and down another, up and down the whole way. I saw loads of chicken buses - the way they have ...
San Jorge La Laguna, Sololá, Guatemala chooklotto... As it is approaching, we run down to the dock and wave. At that point, the guy on the boat does some whistling (I think to check if there might be others in the area who want to jump on?) Anyhow we were told it was 15 Quetzals each to ride down to San Pedro (a good 30 minute boat ride). But, the kid on the boat wanted 20 Quetzals. He was trying to make an extra buck off the gringos, but Tony seemed to like him and he was very very insistent... so we paid him the 20 ...
Jaibalito, Western Highlands, Guatemala travellinlunasI took a two day side trip from Antigua, into the Guatemalan highlands. First stop was Panajachel, a hippy hangout from the 60's perched on the shore of Lake Atitlan, below three massive volcanos. The view on the descent into the town was amazing, and the lake was much bigger than it looked in pictures. The only problem was again the haze, which made it difficult to make out the volcanos. I spent the afternoon munching on fried chicken from the street ...
