    ... spotting became a regular occurrence and each of us had seen his or her share.  We put Sam in a half day Scuba Ranger course.  He really enjoyed scuba diving in the pool.  I decided to get a SCUBA “tune-up” and did a 60 foot dive off the southern coast of Gili T.  I’m really glad I did it.     ... of it. We then practised a few skills underwater in the pool such as regulator removal, retrieval and purging as well as clearing our masks. Later that day we headed out on a boat for our first dive, we did a backwards roll off the boat into the water and began our descent. At this point Nicole found out she has trouble equalising her ear pressure when descending, so we took it easy and worked our way down to 12m.     Wwe return to the hotel and thankfully they agree to sell us some Rupiahs when we check out tomorrow.

    We have lunch at Orong Bar and then head to Youpy's Bar and we do go snorkelling from there but, alas, today there are no turtles!

Thus at 6.30 am we found ourselves slogging up the first mountain of our 'flat' day.
