The rooms were around a nice courtyard garden and everyone was sitting out on their 'porches' as there was some emergency lighting there. One of the locals who worked at Ressa homestay was a young guy who was learning English and he came for a chat and got Mike a guitar to play. It was very sweet. He even invited Mike to play with him and his boss but I had developed the lurgy so we opted for an early ...

... a few hours each day catching up on our blog! Just because it's rainy it doesn't mean it's cold... The daytime temperature feels like a sauna. There are days when the heat and humidity are overwhelming. Clothing, no matter how thin or skimpy, is plastered to your body in a mixture of sweat and condensing humidity from the air. ... stop of our tour. We had to pay a small fee for entry to the National park (made up of Komodo and Rinca) and then another small fee for a guide. Straight away we saw a group of very large Komodo dragons, they had gathered outside the staff canteen. Komodos taste the air as snakes do and can detect blood from up to 10km away, they are also cannibals so no smaller dragons would dare to join the larger ones to smell the food that was being cooked. We took lots of pictures as our ...

... in Indonesia thanks to so many amazing places and activities along the way I decided third time was the charm and booked in for another deep morning dive two days later. Well I was right and man o man was it worth it!! I saw three sharks on my third dive. Two babies sleeping under corals and an adult almost 1.5m in length swimming in the deep blue only feet in front of me. Watching it gracefully navigate the waters and breath through its remarkable gills was a sight to ...
