... park is a ancient Hawaiian village. There were some picnic tables that we could enjoy our lunch. Then we took a hike along the beach. The place is filled with wild (ferel) goats. ... rain had followed us to the hike. Our first stop was the Kapa'a Stream where two waterfalls were located. We made our way through magnificent tall trees, picking our way cautiously through slightly muddy terrain. ... that turned off and became a volcano out of which Pele, the god of fire, appeared. Pele told of the golden people of Hawaii. There was also a Samoan Fire dancer. The Maori women did poi dancing in which they swung tethered weights rhythmically, and with weights that were on fire. It was all over too soon.
