As I've stated before, I grew up in Florida so I don't have anything close to the experience necessary to ride big waves here, but to see waves of that size would be amazing. ... towel and got out a can of guava juice and a breakfast cookie that I picked up at the gas station. I'd only taken one bite when I was hijacked by three chickens wanting to share it! The cheeky things even walked on my legs and the mother was quite willing to climb on me to get it. She even let me stroke her. I gave in and threw them some crumbs. Soon all three of them were on my towel wanting more. They did make me chuckle.

We made our way slowly down the mountain, stopping at any pull off that we thought was promising. We stopped for brunch at the Koke'e Lodge Restaurant. The food was bland and overpriced, but the service was adequate. I wish we would have just waited to have lunch somewhere down the mountain.

... almost reach the cliff walls, but the ocean was pretty calm. Nick enjoyed swimming for a while, while I laid out near the cliff. Nick really liked this beach, but we decided to continue to Tunnels. Nectar said it would probably be even more crowded, but I was willing to risk it.

... P and I hang out at home for a bit. P and I want to check our Kalihiwai Beach and Banana Joe's and head out early afternoon to do so. We also decide to visit the lighthouse again since we really like that area. Kalihiwai is a beautiful beach and we even find the roadside waterfall on the drive down that's mentioned in the Ultimate Guidebook.
