... airplane we were sad to see it end, the hour went so fast. We would all do it again in a heartbeat!

When we got back to the condo, I started this blog and then we got ready to go to the Smith Family Lauau. We needed to be there at 5:00 so Larry, Derek and Erin put on Hawaiian shirts and I put on my new mumu. The luau was close to our condo but it took us a while to get there because of traffic. We parked and went right in, had out ...

... We got a lot of food and more beer, an assortment of Kona beer. Then we took all of the food back to the condo and headed to Safeway, across the street, for the things we couldn't get at Costco. We have a lot of food and it should save us a bunch on eating out.

... br> April 8th. Another lousy day. Hung around the room most of the day, finally doing the two mile round trip walk to our beach. Phil swam a bit and back to home, a bit of rain on the way. I napped while he walked to store. There was a pupu party here, right outside our room and we attended for a few minutes as we had a reserve at the Hukilau for dinner. This is #1 eatery on the island. And it is good, and spendy! In fact, we are going back on Sunday. ...

... department. We were there for ages deciding which case to buy but finally bought a blue Samsonite one. They agreed to keep it for us to pick up on the way back from our trip. We then had lunch before returning to catch the bus to Kekaka, almost the furthest point you can travel westwards before the road ends. From that point until Hanalei there is no road and therefore the Na'Pali coast can only be accessed by boat, air or foot. The bus didn't come on time, so thinking we'd ...

Gilligan's Albatross

... are no snakes on Kauai! On the trail I managed to come upon several Laysan Albatross, a large seabird that is found almost entirely in the Northwestern island of Hawaii. I'm not much of a bird watcher but these birds were pretty big. There was plenty of swell hitting this side of the island so I got to watch some pretty big waves breaking out of the rocks.I hiked for about an hour (with about 20 minutes of that in a rainstorm) and returned to the house to chill for the evening.
