    ... could be too many critters and deer about on the other route and that was the last thing we wanted to hit! We got home around 11pm and I had a coffee, Di had a wine as she hadn't been drinking today as she was riding...good girl��. I tried to write this blog but I was shattered and had to go to bed. Di did really well today, her first day back in the saddle and we rode about 160 miles ...

    ... the Good Captains, told us this was a very good Crossing. We will take their word for it. In any event, it was an adventure and we survived. We are now snug as a bug in our little harbor in our lovely, seaworthy Calliope. We will stay put for a couple of weeks in the delightful and charming town of Dunedin. But, I am recalling that old mariner's prayer that says, "Dear God, please watch over me for the sea is so big and my boat is so small." Amen to that.

    ... historical district of Savannah. It was so beautiful, all the sets had these huge old trees that hung over the roads and the most amazing historic houses. The town itself had lots of restaurants and bars, especially along the water. We walked through all the streets and ended up visiting the spot where Forrest Gump sits on the bench waiting for the bus. They have removed the bench and its in the museum.
