... a belated birthday present. The staff were wonderful organising the gift to be wrapped and ready for when we finished the tour. Michelle had no idea! I bought myself a gorgeous Thistle vase as a memento of the trip.

Our planned route from Waterford was to be along the Copper Coast & we stopped at Cobh which was the last stop of the Titanic before it sunk. Cobh was ...

No visit to Ireland would be right without “Kissing the Blarney Stone”. We climb the well worn stone steps of the castle remains and kissed the stone. We found that Ireland has been shaped by several major events after the teachings of (Saint) Patrick when he converted the Pagans to Christianity: the invasion of the Normans; the forces of Oliver Cromwell invading to crush the Irish revolt (remnants of castles ...

The room we had contained two twin beds side by side, a double bed and another twin bed in a little alcove right behind the door into the room. The size of the room itself is considered huge by most European standards, which is nice when you’ve got three women in a room! Tonight was an early night as tomorrow starts at the crack of dawn and we’re off to Wales.

... catching crabs and throwing them back.

Through gently rolling farmland and on to Waterford, another Viking city with many walls still visible. We did a walking tour as an option but the guide was terrible. The complementary drink in the oldest pub in Ireland was great. Part of the lounge contains one of the original Viking walls.

On to Dublin tomorrow. No wifi tonight even tho I have paid for it ...
