... for our first venture. It is a supervised do-it-yourself studio that allows you to make projects fusing glass, making jewelry, metal sculpture, mosaics, and spin art. Elena and Cole chose to try making a project using glass and having it fused together. They had a great time and both did an amazing piece of artwork. 5/17 Monday

After a couple of flights - one being on the new 787 Dreamliner, and a 45 minute drive- we arrived at the Beach Harbor resort.

Got a nap in before we all met up to plan the next day, had a bite to eat and off to bed.

I did see MadMen season finale.

We do have wifi, but it's not great. Also, for some reason, my room smells like french onion ...

... for "Always Patsy". So a drive through scenic Egg Harbor where we did find one decorative egg maybe left from the summer display, a quick stop in cute Fish Creek for sandwiches for dinner, a very fast stop at our hotel in Ephraim to check in, and then back down to the theater. Whew, we made it with time to enjoy the sunset.

Sounds suitably creepy for the season, doesn't it? I finally learned how Door County got it's name. Door County is a peninsula that juts up into Lake Michigan and creates, on its west side, Green Bay (of Packers fame). Off the tip of Door county is an island, Washington Island. Apparently the waters between the peninsula and the island are particularly treacherous and home to many a shipwreck. This earned it the moniker 'port des mortes', or Death's Door, ...
