... left it to the last possible moment to hop off the centre of the road.
After a long drive back, we reached Alice Springs about 01:00. Kangaroo incident besides, this was an excellent tour and would recommend it to anyone.
Its now Thursday morning and I need to pack my things up (well, more like closing my bag as I haven’t really unpacked it at all so far on the trip!) as I’m heading off to Adelaide at lunchtime on the Ghan train.
... hit it off right away, and became the best of buddies. So, the day Jack went out to see the place, and within half an hour of exploring it, Jack and William shook hands and Jack walked off with two acres of William's land (he had over a million, he decided he wouldn't miss it). Jack then built a resort on the land, and his son, Jim Cotterill, and Jack decided to build a road all the way out there from Alice Springs, in the middle of the Outback summer. Apparently it couldn't wait ...
Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia stuggin... for me!!!! Q lots of angry stares toward me on entering the bus!!!!
So off we headed for the Rock itself!!! I can't describe just how big the actual thing is!!! It is in the middle of a toatally flat plan and then BOOM there it is, massive and hulking like a fossilised animal rooted to the spot!! We walked about 3/4 of the base walk but did not finiah as it was too hot! We got to see lots of cave paintings and visted various diffrent caves at thet foot of the rock ...
... to see the bluest ocean and white sandy beaches below. We kept saying “just imagine what this would really look like on a beautiful, clear sunny day”.
We headed back to Esperence and did a scenic ocean drive stopping at so many stunning beaches and coves including Twilight Cove where the white sand was so fine and the sapphire blue coloured water was simply unbelievable.
We left the beautiful coast behind us and headed North to Norseman ...
... and this American guy on the tour started going way too fast towards the bottom. Should have taken a few more breaks at that point, but I just wanted to be done so bad. I was pretty dizzy and thought I was gonna puke. Not good. But I made it. :)
After the hike, we made the drive to our camp site. After a quick stop for firewood off the highway and a quick look at the sunset, we finally made it. (Notice I didn't say, we cleaned up and showered. Yah. No showers. We did ...
... good old Scott, our brilliant tour guide, lit up a fire and we all helped to prepare a nice yummy camp-oven dinner. Everybody sat on the their swags (for the German friends: Schlafsack mit eingenaehter Matraze) around the camp fire munched dinner, had a few drinks and then snuggled up to sleep in the swag watching a dazzling show of millions of stars above us - enough shooting starts to ensure every wish is fulfilled.
After a cold night, a much too ...
... t presume things like that anymore.
An hour of beeping led to a mutiny, and with everyone's encouragement I took the bag and dumped it in the old man's lap. An Australian lady then motioned for these morons to fish out the alarm and turn it off. The wife was so startled she ran to the restroom with one hand firmly clutching her butt while waiving the other. I think the English translation would be, "oops I ******* myself." Yes, it really is ...

... to a friend of Brian and Renee Miller who lives in Alice Springs. She was very nice, and sadly we couldn’t meet because of illness from her pregnancy.
This morning, I did the quad bike tour. We rode out for 20 minutes to this desolate cattle station (not ranch) to learn about their operations. Of more importance, I rode an ATV for the ...
