... the rock. Unfortunately for us, it was a very cloudy night so although the rock still looked beautiful and dramatic against the skyline, we didn't get that vibrant red that's on all the postcards. It was still an experience that will stay with us forever though! It was dinner time when we headed back, and a demonstration on how use a swag, which is a canvas sleeping bag with a mattress inside and a hood. After a taste sensation whipped up by driver/guide/chef Captn James, we ...

Afterwards we wandered back through to check out the market... Only to find it just about packed up and gone? It was only on that night between 6pm and 9pm and despite the amount of people still milling about, ...

Another early start to see another beautiful sunrise, then went on our way to Kings Canyon. An extremely high climb up the side then walk around the rim was completed by Brian whilst I did a shorter walk with some very nice girls met during the trip. We walked up the side of the canyon and met the others coming down, a far more sensible option in over 40 degrees of heat, yes I know I whimped out. A lovely ...

... and typically more competitive folks in the group entered the race. With a headwind, everyone's speed was about 2-3km per hour slower than estimated but everyone did great and had so much fun. Dara took pictures of the whole thing which I hope I get access to soon! I had the fastest women's time with an average speed of 27.65 km/hr over 50k. Not too bad I suppose with a head wind. After the race, we still had 60km to cycle to reach Barrow Creek which turned out to be ...
