Fly into Christchurch - drive to Hokitika
Flew into Christchurch and drove to Hokitika. Hire car was a bronze Hyundai Getz - 5 speed. Zippy little car, I liked it.
Was in awe of the mountains from the moment I saw them in the distance with the white snow capped peaks. Stunning. (Especially for an Aussie who hasn't seen this before.)

Dinner in the dining room, a quick check of facebook, a visit to the local supermarket, a board game or 2 with a couple from Worcester and then one of the most amazing showers I’ve ever had. Now, sitting in room five, just about to press play on the laptop for the movie night. As well as a good film, the guys have offered to transfer as many films as can fit on my laptop to me after they found a free and fast sharing thingy. A good day in the ...
Home again.......
... We then headed across to the domestic terminal, where nobody knew anything about our flight. After being sent to three different gates, and lots of calling around, we found that the plane was still at the international terminal. They took us all from the gate by bus to the plane though which was good. But so many delays along the way, such as the Virgin staff not knowing how to open the gate doors etc .

Dunedin, Catlins, Christchurch und ab "nach Hause"
... abzuschließen. Nach dieser Erdkunde-Stunde fuhren wir zu den Matai Falls, die einfach nur wunderschön sind – wie man auf den Bildern sehen kann. Zum Abschluss machten wir einen Stopp am Nugget Point – einer Felsformation auf der ein Leuchtturm steht. Auf beiden Seiten geht es hunderte Meter steil zum Meer hinunter. Von der Aussichtsplattform am Leuchtturm konnten wir viele Seelöwen sehen und unzählige Seelöwenbabys die in kleinen Felspools ...
