Travel Blogs from Ko Phangan
Despite our intentions of easing into the travelling lifestyle gently, our first night in Koh Phangan was Full Moon Party #1 (28th December, 2012), following a 16 hour journey on the night bus from Bangkok. Somehow, the Thai transport system had exceeded all possible hopes of the service running on time, by actually running too efficiently, meaning …
After the long journey down from Bangkok, during which our bags had definitely been rummaged through (as is usually the case with bags on the way to a full moon party!) we arrived once again on the island of Ko Phangan. Since booking our accommodation we had decided that the place we had booked was too far from the main town and we were going …
... Nuts and mojitos. I decided against the Mojitos as i had to catch the over night ferry to Bangkok. It was sooo hard saying goodbye to everyone as we had all become close over the week we had spent together and we were all starting to go our separate ways again.
All in all, the beaches were great, the memories were priceless and the friends i made i life long. I really did have the best time in Ko Tao and it isn't the last time it is going to see me. ...
... to run into them like that. After talking for a bit we decided to go and have a beer on the beach, and we spent pretty much the whole afternoon just talking and chilling on the beach. Afterwards we made plans to meet up at 20.00 and go for some more drinks.

TravelPod Member ReviewsOasis Bungalows Ko Phangan
With this being the first accommodation we stayed at in Asia, the standard had yet to be set, yet Oasis put in precisely no effort to welcome or accommodate us. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I was unaware that a windowless cell could be optimistically described as being a 'spacious, modern, beach-front bungalow', though with scenic views of Koh Phangan rubbish dump surrounding it, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise to only use the cracks in the wall as our fresh air source. Of course, bed sheets were a luxury we could only dream of, the fan a mere prop on the wall, and we were generously supplied with one whole toilet roll to last 4 of us, the entire 10 days we were staying there. Though in a convenient location, only chose to stay here at your own peril.
