No paradise in this Oasis.

With this being the first accommodation we stayed at in Asia, the standard had yet to be set, yet Oasis put in precisely no effort to welcome or accommodate us. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I was unaware that a windowless cell could be optimistically described as being a 'spacious, modern, beach-front bungalow', though with scenic views of Koh Phangan rubbish dump surrounding it, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise to only use the cracks in the wall as our fresh air source. Of course, bed sheets were a luxury we could only dream of, the fan a mere prop on the wall, and we were generously supplied with one whole toilet roll to last 4 of us, the entire 10 days we were staying there. Though in a convenient location, only chose to stay here at your own peril.

Okay, back to business. Again i must apologize on the very late entries but its been a hectic time of late. So Koh Tao discovered & explored next its Koh Pha Ngan & time for the world famous Full Moon Party.

We had boarded the ferry along with the hoards of weary/hungover travellers and bedded down for a quick hours kip to pass the …

... we spent our time here? Well, a lot of time on the beach. Rupert loves the shallow waters and goes fish catching. We've caught the odd taxi boat, always fun, especially to Mango Bay to be surrounded by fish. I've had my massages, bliss in aircon form! We've eaten at our sacred cheap, amazing Thai restaurants such as 995 Duck! We've shopped. We've driven to Mae Had to see the DVD lady who gave Rupert a chicken toy and who keeps her new releases to excitedly ...

... As time was getting on we opted to jump on a long tail water taxi back to where we'd left the peds and hit a ton on the ride home because we were so desperate for After a few big nights we thought the sensible thing to do would be to have a quiet last night to recharge for Koh Tao… but unfortunately it was St Patrick's Day. I called it a night early but the others kept going in true backpacker fashion to cap off Koh Phangan in style! Proud of you boys!!

Sleeping was the the first thing on the list we needed to tick off and I don't want to brag but we nailed it! Even with lines of people coming through our room to use the facilities, we still managed to sleep until 11. With full moon looming we thought we might need it. After queuing up to use our own shower we went to find some breakfast. We chilled on the beach and played canasta, which for some reason drew a crowd, then wondered back to our hostel. The ...
