    We arrived this evening and checked into our really nice hotel. We then went back out to see if the visitor center was still open. It wasn't, so we went to check out a lighthouse, an old furnace at the Hiawatha National Forest, and a small town called Christmas. It was an enjoyable evening that ended with free pancakes at our hotel. ...

We were very fortunate that we had a small group so it allow us to spend more time drifting at each of the the 3 shipwrecks that we were going to see.     ... new stand with newspaper and three different kinds of gun magazines and lots of Jesus tshirts. There are also well-marked snowmobile trails, complete with their own red octagonal mini-stop signs. Little to no cell phone service up here, but should be crossing into Wisconsin soon. Couldn't ask for better traveling companions! Girls are doing great. We are watching/listening to season 1 of Muppet show. Off we go again! Hope to be in Baudette ...

    ... is today...stopped by the house tonight for us to see if there was anything else missing and he found that the handle on the side door was loose and it broke off in his hand. So he is replacing the handle. We don't know if the thieves broke it part of the way and then it broke or if Nate just pulled too hard. But he is doing all he can to make the house secure and our neighbour is probably going to double his vigilance.... Right Pete?!!!! Stay tuned...for more in this ...
