We are so lucky to have friends that invite us to ski at Waterville Valley. It's a really nice family focused resort about a 5 hour drive from New Canaan. The kids get on well and know the resort so well now that they ski or snow board together and then meet up with their slower parents at lunch or the end of the day.
... flying to Miami the next day.
New England is one of our favorite regions of the USA. There is lots we haven't seen (we are keen to get up to Maine, for example) and we would love to visit again, preferably at a warmer time of the year!
... snowbirds during the night and we're leaving our roost tomorrow morning. We're haven't quite figured out our driving route back to Miami Beach. But we'll make some unexpected right and left turns and see what we find!

... the base station of the Mt Washinton Cog Railway about 7pm. It was a bit dark driving through the mountains and we missed some of the sights but it was worth it. We took an alternate, shorter route. Dinner at Fabyans Station was economical and delish. By the way, did you know that Pac Man was the first game of its type? Before it, video games featured race cars or space ships. Pac man was non violent...and had characters..lol...thought I'd share that with ...
... by the amenities that await backpackers traveling between the eight huts that are maintained by the Appalachian Mountain Club. Not only were there 8 different bunk rooms full of three-tiered beds, but a fully functioning kitchen that cooked 3 hot meals a day.
As we pulled out of our campsite we concluded the camping portion of our trip and looked forward to the four-walled, indoor plumbed, and comfy bed portion that would soon begin.
