Unfortunately after a great night of darts and beers at the hostel in Mersing , we discovered they were all going to another beach on Tioman, while me and Dinand were headed to ABC.

Adventure John climbed most of the way up the waterfall ...

... to grab your eye and send you swimming off in other directions. I've never done this in such shallow waters before and it was addictive stuff. We spend time on the beach and took pictures then sped up to Salang for lunch. My egg noodles arrived in a mucas sauce (yeah that's what it looked like!) so I popped them on a plate and ate them up, the sauce was horrible! Lauren enjoyed her soy sauce noodles and we jumped back on the boat for stop number 3. The whole day was the ...

... After reading the Lonely Planet (I have an out of date copy!) I was expecting a choice of ferry or speed boat, but it seems that these days there is only a ferry option (35 RM per person one way), and that there is currently only one company operating due to a 'tragedy'.

The 'tragedy' reference on wikivoyage left me curious and I spent a little time browsing the web for more info on this. As a result my research also confirmed some issues we experienced ...
