... card by getting dry suit certified before they came. We drove out to Lake Pingvallavatn (pronounced as if the P were a Th). Weather is rather cloudy and gloomy and it sprinkles a bit on us as we go. Dive master Johannes (and I must check the spelling of his name with him) is excited that it might rain while we are in the lake. says it is quite interesting to watch the raindrops fall into the lake while underwater. We stop at a souvenir shop for a toilet break then proceed to the dive ...
Pingvellit, Borgarfjardarsysla, Iceland carpefeline... a year. We could see a long ridge of the North American plate which has moved upward. Really wasn't sure what she was saying about it all as some of her facts seemed a bit off. It is by lake Pingvallavatn which is pronounced as if it is a TH at the beginning and the P doesn’t really look like a P. She said the lake is one of their larges or this largest but it is the coldest and the deepest which goes ...

Reykjarvik, Iceland mike1940... impressive it has flat lands for miles, bordered with huuuuge mountain ranges...and tiny 'summer houses' dotted everywhere, apparently its where the people come in the summer when they get away from the city as the majority of the 300,000 people live in Reykjavik... so yeah first stop - geysirs....were unreal....very wierd being showered upon, from water ...
Reykholt, Iceland crazysupaman... English, I just nodded my head back at them and discovered something I'm almost positive will come in handy this summer. If you don't say anything and nod your head when it seems appropriate people will assume your a native, a quiet aloof native, but a native none the less. The flight was nice but I couldn't get any sleep because the sun shone through the window on the far side of the plane directly ...
Reykjavik, Iceland tim_arsenault... of Kevin's missing luggage with his life-saving medicines. With some live music, the place filled up very quickly and a girl with a hat started shaking all body parts in an unsuccessful attempt to show her dancing moves. There was no doubt about it: the runtur had begun. Jenny told about her make-up loving twin daughters, while Kevin provided some more beers. Time was passing by quickly, but outside the sun seemed to make no ...
Reykjavik, Iceland kdv_travelblog... walk on - so I was happy to let him lead the way! The weirest thing about walking on the glacier, which is apparently 60 - 70 metres deep of snow, is that you can hear the ice melting, cracking, and even hear water pouring underneath you... If ever you're in Iceland, this trip is a definite must though.
Mydrasjokull, Iceland iaincA day of relaxation today, I was collected from my hotel at 1030 and off to the Blue lagoon. What a fantastic time I had, chilling in the hot water - it is not any good for your hair though - my hair is very dry now. But sooo relaxing, you can float on your back and just drift with the clouds above you. Thankfully it was a clear day so not alot of clouds and a very blue sky. I also treated myself to a massage - 30 mins for 3600 ...
Reykjavik, Iceland ronniedWell what a disappointment this morning, I had checked in and ready to go yet - we did not go anywhere! There was bad fog in Kulucuk - Greenland, where we were flying to so the day trip was cancelled at 1100, we were due to fly at 1010. Not a happy bunny. At least I will get a refund, so a cheaper break than I thought! So back to my hotel and off with the thermals. I decided to go to a small ...
