We were pretty desperate for fruit and veg at this point, we had gone three days without it (you can't carry it over the borders) so we headed into Esperance for some supplies and back tracked a little to Cape Le Grand National Park. ... some 30 kilometres west, where we had phone reception and the dirt road in was a pleasure to drive along in comparison.

Stokes National Park camping ground was well set out with plenty of loos and a couple of camp kitchens. The whole camp ground appeared to be virtually new being about 3 years old.

... 8217;t focus. This was followed by Steve being struck by a gust of wind whilst at the highest point which took his hat and he went down on all fours for stability.

We suspect that Steve’s hat probably joined many others at their resting place, somewhere below the peak. This was Steve’s hat from the Australian Open 2007 and it has now joined Mary’s Australian Open hat that blew off when we were visiting the Blue Mountains in previous
travels.
