... After lunch we took the Great Ocean Drive which takes you along to some of the best local beaches which run one after the other and each one seems better than the last. White sand and clear blue waters with rocky outcrops make this coastline pretty amazing. Then, after dinner we tried a bit of night fishing at the beach opposite the campsite. A really pleasant day.

... the coastline and the beaches but around this area they are pristine white sand surrounded by Granite to the waters edge. Also the area has a miriad of islands and I'm positive that many of them have only survived the wild seas because of the granite sides. It would be very interesting to visit one or two but I reckon you may need cast iron pants to protect your legs from the serpents that have probably bred unhindered for ...

... wasn't sufficient as the 22 kilometre return trip was pretty tough. I think we'd all found a second wind and were managing the ups and downs OK but our backsides weren't faring very well and we were all happy to see the flat Esplanade track into town again.

Bikes returned, showered and clean, we relaxed for the afternoon, playing some games and having a drink whilst complaining endlessly about our aches and pains. Gooness knows what we'll all feel like tomorrow?....

... the sun sink into the forest that stretches around us as far as the eye can see. The rest of the evening we hang around the fire, have a drink, a meal, a cuppa, and then it is time for a bit of star-gazing. This time with the camera.

The next morning the normal lazy routine for breakfast, and then we go for a stroll over the Cave Hill rock. This is quite an extensive outcrop that rises about 50m high out of the surrounding plains. It is old rock, very ...

... he actually moved and turned around, getting his tail off the road (wise decision) and is now facing the road. He looks at us with some suspicion, but even at half a meter distance he refuses to move. This one is actually lying in a bit of a sinuous posture, but I estimate him to be from nose to tip of the tail around 2m long. For sure a formidable dinosaur, and the top predator of the realm.
