... I'm not 100%) and EC & BC had a swim and then joined us later. The ocean swell has been up the past 48 hours and the beach is quite treacherous - some of the sand has been eroded very quick - I assume they have to replenish the sand here often.

Tomoorow is our last full day on Maui and hopefully the ocean has calmed down a little and we'll all take a dip.

It's back to work on Maui!

Our two month trip to Hawaii started by dealing with an ice storm in Charlotte. To make our 7:50am flight, Zack, Sheila, and I started for the Charlotte airport at 4:45am. The freezing rain had not started yet and wasn't planned to hit Charlotte until 6:00am. Our hope was that Zack could get us to the airport and then back home before the ice excitement. The execution went well and Zack was back before 6:00am.

... and beyond. Luckily, they brought us back before the lights came back on! After the shows, Pam and Bill headed off to do some Sunday shopping and we headed back up the Hamakua coast to continue our garden tour from the day before. Botanical World Adventures features a plethora of trees in a 10 acre arboretum. One website reports over 5,000 species - an amazing variety, and pretty well labeled.
