We had another great day. Slower start and then we drove firstly to Ostuni – this is a white hilltop town about 30 minutes south from Alberobello. BTW Alberobello means beautiful tree and there are sure plenty round here. Craig and I first saw Ostuni from a distance on the train and I was very keen to see it. Today was our last day of pedaling. We finished strong covering 108 kilometers which was our biggest day of the trip. We started from Otranto and rode up along the coast and through the olive groves nearly to Brindisi then turned inland, and back south, toward our destination of Lecce.

      I have included a picture of a ...

... oriental flavour to the mix of overweight Balkan lorry drivers... who start banging on the lock-edd glass doors of the restaurant from about 2000 GREEK TIME. Eventually the Italian chef relents and a flood of a dozen or so famished fatties (plus the voluble contingent from China) pours in with us in its wake. Dinner is just about adequate but the Senior Prefects would certainly have been talking to Griff and Simon about it in the morning. We get ...
