    Lovely place to stay

Really enjoyed our 2 nights at this resort. We stayed in the budget accommodation which was fine for 2 nights. If I were to return I would upgrade to one of the nicer accommodations looking over the sea.

Secluded and relaxed, beautifully located, although slightly out-of-the-way, great if you want to get away from the masses.
Great food and service from lovely people/family-run. Rooms basic (with amenities) and fairly comfortable with gorgeous views over the bay.

... neon everything, and fire. Not just any fire... A limbo stick lit on fire and a jump rope lit on fire. We tried the limbo and it was hot as hell. The jump rope was a bit more sketch as everyone tried to jump in at one and messed everything up. The whole beach transitioned into a huge dance floor and at one point, we were dancing and chatting it up with two Dutch people we met in Chiang Mai on the third day of this trip with our crazy ass cab driver I talked about in the ...

    Koh Tao... The PADI

Here on Koh Tao is pretty amazing... It's very laid back and has a really nice atmosphere. For those of you that don't know, I'm doing my PADI whilst I'm here which is basically a scuba diving equivalent of a driving license. Yesterday we did pool diving and theory and today we did 2 ocean dives, each about 12 metres deep. The diving here is insane! The colours are amazing and you see so many fish... A huge shoal of (small) barracuda swam right ...

    ... so we found out.
First port of call was to Haad Salad (Haad means beach, which if taken as English hard means concrete beach? haha). Small beach, not much swimming room, but very pretty, nice sand.

Mae Haad is the most popular beach in terms of diving and snorkelling so that was the next target. It’s famous as it has a sand bar that connects to an island when tide is
low. We located the beach through the trees and ...

    From Bangkok to Koh Tao

The journey from Bangkok to Koh Tao takes approximately 12 -13 hours. Thankfully it's over night so at least you don't have to put up with the ridiculous high temperature and humidity. I had to check out from my hotel on Rambutrri Road at 12 o'clock and the bus to Koh Tao setting off at 9 pm. So I had whole day to have a look around Bangkok. First thought was, yeah I would go to do some sightseeing, Cesar Palace etc. ...

... cannot exaggerate enough how little the scratches were. The company charged us £620. It's absolutely disgusting how much they ripped us of. They literally were trying to find the smallest things to charge us for- one of the 'scratches' they pointed at was a bit of mud that I then rubbed off. No matter how much we tried they would not bring the price down. We decided quickly we were going to have to pay it as the woman started ...
