The illness has me now...

... clever.

If anyone knows of this disease, please can you let me know the cure. But please, please bear in mind that i think we are talking hours rather than days. As I write this, I grow weak. I'm not long for this world.

Thought of the Day

I must go in, the fog is rising.

For reference

I still have so much to give.
I hope men will say of me that I did duty by my country.

Is it June yet?

... Battleground, stopping at the overlooks, reading the signs that tells you what happened where (i.e. how Custer lost the 7th Calvary), and getting a bit peckish. I pull over at another viewpoint and grab a protein bar out of the back then get out of the car to check out Sniper Ridge. I'm reading the sign and looking around when I hear a boom. I turn around and don't see anything except another car going by so I think ...

Leaving Big Timber Today

... returned from his less than fruitful fishing expedition, I was making him a cup of coffee when I distinctly heard a meow. Just one. I turned to Chris and he remarked, "sounds like a kitty." I open the door, look out and there is this smallish Siamese Orange tabby cross cat staring at me with big blue Siamese eyes. Hard to tell how old, could be young or could be small bodied. Have you ever talked to a Siamese? Good Lord they can talk!!! Meow ...

Fishing and PMS

... reach? Remorse has become a litigation-induced feeling. If you show no remorse, than you're insane. If you do, you're sick. One gets the death penalty, the other gets medical treatment... Fishing Report: 11:11am MST: We interrupt this stream of consciousness to let you know that the wind has stopped and it's now perfect fishing conditions!! ....I'm pretty good with the "if it's not self defense, you get the chair" approach. And before anyone says, "well, what about..." I ...

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and South Dakota

... been with. Except for the occational burnouts that is. Bikers would put their bikes front tires against walls and go through the gears as they burnt down their tires. Most of these bikes were rentals of course. The wiener-run was also a good show, where bikers would have a girl on the back of the bike, driving beneath a mustard-covered sausage hanging in a string. The object was for the girl to take as big of a bite as she could out of the sausage.

Day 37 - Yellowstone NP

... for Mammoth Hot Springs inside the park. Bro. Nigel gave us a brief introduction to the history and geology of Yellowstone NP. Yellowstone is one of the world's largest super volcanoes! About 640,000 years ago, an enormous eruption occurred which caused the top of the crater to collapse and this resulted in the formation of a caldera which is almost the size of the entire park. It also erupted 1.3 million years ago and 2 million years ago. So it is due to erupt again ...

Little House to Big Sky

... had expected, it ended up being a very good experience for the girls. The homestead was as it was in the late 1800s, and a small one room schoolhouse was brought to the site from its previous location three miles down the road. The land around the site approximates what the open grasslands of the prairies looked like at the time (less than 0.1% of the Great Plains remains as it was). The homestead is a living museum, with horse rides, farming demonstrations, rope making ...

Day of Maintenance and a Courtesy Ticket

... and then I got a couple of books at a used book store (2 books-$.35). Things were cheap here.
I got a bunch of stuff at a hardware store that had auto parts. I had checked the spark plug wires and saw that they were a big part of the problem. For those who don't know you use to run the engine when it was dark and you could see if the cables were bad by the flashing crossfire along the cables. Mine could have been lighting ...

Custer's Last Stand and My Continued Van Problems

I backtracked somewhat to I90 and headed north into Montana, my 39th state, first stop being the Custer Battlefield National Monument. It was fixed up rather nicely and had nice views. There was a small national military cemetery there where I might be able to be buried since I was in the army. It did seem to have a number of Vietnam war dead there.
I guess that was appropriate-to bury the dead from a misbegotten war at the site of one of the worst military ...

Stalking a Moose

... continued to back up. After a couple more snorts and shakes of its head she walked off. I was really glad she didn't trample me death.
On the way back arond the lake, I had gone about a half mile chasing the moose, I spied another wild animal but this one didn't seem so threatening-a beaver and its hut. Back to finish the painting and then I heated ...
