... milk station where for $1.60 a litre, you took a plastic bottle out of the machine and filled it with farm fresh milk - no pasteurisation here!
There was a magnificent cathedral also and we had a quick look before our tour finished and we had some free time. Very impressed with Slovenia - clean, neat and tidy, the people are happy, friendly and very helpful and unlike some of their more western neighbours have absolutely NO ATTITUDE! We could quite easily and cheaply have ...

... Now for our next mission driving a left hand drive manual on the opposite side of the road! A bit scary at first but got the hang of it in the end. We arrived at Plitvice lakes round 4:45pm it looks like a beautiful area, lots of greenery & bush on our way here, so looking forward to a walk in the national park in the morning. The start point for the walk is very close to our hotel, we can even hear some waterfalls through our bedroom ...

This whole part of Europe survives off tourism, which means as a tour group we can't go anywhere without a guide, including the National Park, and b/c we were a group of more than 14 (by only 1 mind you), we have to travel off a group ticket under the direction of a local guide. ...

... was that on the map, it looked as though the only way to see any of the mid section lakes and waterfalls was by the boat, which as I already mentioned wasn't running today. As we walked back from station one towards the entrance gate we could see down to the lower lakes and waterfalls below. These were similar to their counterparts in the upper section, but were much larger, one rushing through the ravine and another cascading down the side of the opposite cliff face. ...

Sorry it's a long one!! As of October 11th we officially started our workstay at the Linden Tree Ranch outside Gospic. The ranch lies just outside the Velebit National Park. In contrast to the rocky greenery of the coast, the Velebit is hilly verging on mountainous terrain with beautiful deciduous trees in full fall colours. The ranch is bordered by a creek on two sides and lays in a valley protected from the wind. Our arrival at the Gospic bus station was as cryptic ...
