... the winter. But during the peak summer season 15,000 people come to visit per day! Much of the island has undergone extensive historical preservation and restoration (ban on almost all motor vehicles); as a result, the entire island is listed as a National Historic Landmark.

We made our way south to Mackinaw City which is at the northern tip of the Michigan's Lower Peninsula along the southern shore of the Straits of Mackinac. These two land masses are physically connected by the 8,614-foot (2,626 m) Mackinac Bridge. Opened in 1957, it is the world's 16th-longest in ...

... amazing experience all the same, we saw places I'm sure I never would have if not for this job and survived another season aboard! Our reward is surely the itinerary of the next two season's planned in Europe! For now it's turnaround time and while the Great Lakes and connecting rivers will make this return a lengthy one, life aboard is much more relaxed and enjoyable with service at its season's end.
