I liked Florence so much the first time I went, I came back! I realized in August that I loved this city and that I didn't have enough time to spend here, so I decided I wanted to go back to enjoy the slower moving life of Florence.
The first day we got to Florence, Katy and I went straight to the leather market. I had been eagerly waiting the entire semester to buy a new purse, and I knew I had seen several I really liked in Florence, so I had made ...
Happy Thanksgiving!
I spent the morning taking an Italian exam!!! The afternoon was a little more fun, touring Palazzo Pitti with my Art History class.
It was a little strange spending it without everyone but my school put together a little gathering for us. A group of us dined on a typical American Thanksgiving at a local restaurant. We were served Butternut Squash soup with bread, Turkey ...

Thursday caught a bus to Siena with Nonie and Kerrin.
The Duomo there is one of the best and most beautiful churches I've seen inside and out - and I've seen more than enough churches to last ...
Hi Everyone!
After an exhausting weekend in Brussels, I was in for yet another treat with cooking classes in Florence. Organized by my school, a group of us met with a chef for some lessons.
We were taught how to prepare typical Tuscan cuisine including Ribollita and Stuffed zucchini-flowers.
Everything was delicious & I look forward to trying these recipes at home!
I'll update you soon,

... officer and thought his badge would impress me but he annoyed me, so I started talking to one of the others, Pier Paolo, who was so much fun. He is an aspiring actor who desperately wants to go to America to pursue his dream, and wants to practice his English. He was a very nice guy, didn't seem to be a typical Italian, like his friend "I don't take a hint" police officer and "I'm smitten with this American girl" other guy, who fell head over heels ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy alliemarie... there are a lot of lovely places in these area: The National Park of Uccellina, Orbetello Lagune…).
If you don't have any good idea for journey you can take into account some our suggestions. For instance the "winetrain" to Montalcino in Chianti. It’s great! The trip took one day-Saturday and it was quite cheap. A guy that we met in Florence told us about ...
... once again used the public city bus to get into town. Upon arriving our group made a be-line for the bike store. We got there and the place was packed with people from our group. We all got our turn to go into the shop and this time I got to go into the back room. When I got there the old lady from the day before was there and on one wall was a bike frame and pictures of a cyclist named Rossi who was a Provincial biking champion in the 50’s. The woman told us in Italian that ...
Siena, Tuscany, Italy debrumbaugh... be impossible to make it either better or more beautiful with the power and industry of man." No truer words have been spoken. Realy remarkable to look at and a great navigation tool seen from all alleys. I sat for ages in awe of this huge green and white striped marvel that is so different to the Rome monsters.I couldnt help but stare back in wonder as paul dragged me away down the street. Florence has little back ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy flee103... from here on out. I just hope she gets them to me before Christmas. We got to leave our bags at the train station for only 3 or 4 Euro, and we headed off to find this restaurant that was recommended in Frommer's called the 12 Apostles. After about forty minutes of searching that got us into the main part of the city, we found the place thanks to my cousin's ability to read directional signs and found it closed. I was really in the mood for this place, and it was ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy jerryruth... We had some beers and won a bottle of wine in a game (which was quickly consumed) and met 2 guys who had just graduated from Salisbury University (near my home). Matt, one of them, was absolutely wasted, but still great fun. He taught me a few good things and gave great suggestions for Italy and dealing with all the masses of people who were there. My favorite tip (one that got used many a time from then forward) was as an alternative to standing in long lines ...
