... ll stay another night, so that we can try to get a water filter in Beziers. No joy at the two truma agents. They don't use the kind of water filling systems in France, they just bung a hose pipe into a hole in the side. I will have to order from Amazon and get them sent. What is really sad is that loads of Plane trees are being cut down along the canal du midi. Apparently they have a disease and will be replanted, but cruising along the canal will now be in bright ...

It all started one evening in The Netherlands, tasting French wines and learning all about the regions in which they were produced. On the wall there was a large picture of this medieval city and I said "one day I have to visit that place". That place is Carcassonne, and it would take me a little closer to the coast.

So the carnival is over and we pack up and spend a night at Fanjeaux before journeying to the Weedons at Villemagne. A week of R&R with friends. A week spent visiting some new places and revisiting old ones - Castelnaudary, Carcassonne, Mazeres and Revel. Lunch in out of the way village bars and coffee in market squares. And of course the St Papoul ...

... as we got back on the train. Another couple of hours we should be back in Toulouse and then on to Carcassonne. I loved the grotto in Lourdes.
