      We drove fairly slowly, thankfully, especially when we got to the speed bumps, that could have seen luggage or passengers ejected if we had been going faster!

      At the dock we jumped out and grabbed our bags. We had been advised that the ferry went at 11:00, when we got there however it had changed to 11:30. But this was on Thai time, so we didn't depart until about twelve!

      The next morning although overcast it seemed possible to venture outside and explore some of the southern tip of Ko Lanta. We found ourselves a driver (such a sweet guy!) who drove us up to Old Town. He agreed to collect us in 2 hours which would give us enough time to grab some lunch and shop around.

      ... dusty! Having arrived safely we sat in our under-chalet seating sector, and cracked open the Hong Thong with great anticipation and excitement... It tastes like petrol. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've seen it being used as petrol in someone's scooter today - I will investigate this tomorrow. Anyway, when mixed with coke it's not bad so we had a drink and a chat and retired to the bug-free haven that is our netted bed, from which I am now writing this very blog! ...
