    ... you can see the blue Pacific framed perfectly a few hundred meters beyond. The brunch was as expensive as would be expected at a high-caliber resort in Kauai ($20 for a 3 egg omelet, french toast for $18), and it was served in a covered open-air restaurant just off the right side of the lobby. There were white swans swimming in the landscaped pond just in front of the restaurant.

    ... and wine to have for dinner. We cooked at the barbecues at my sister and brother in law's condo and ate out on the lanai. The ocean breeze was strong and cooling and even inside the condo no air conditioning was needed to keep the rooms comfortable. We stayed up late, laughing and talking and arguing about what the best Pixar movie is. We were crispy from the sun, not exactly sunburned, but sun-kissed, and after showering fell happily into bed.

    Our last stop with Tuck was Kalapaki Harbor. There we took a walk in the park. Just before leaving we watched the cruise ship Grand Princess (registered in Bermuda) undock and head off to places unknown.
