I also walked up these stairs into the mountain to discover a massive bat cave. We then took the bus back to the hotel where we have a cabin overlooking the mountains. The afternoon lessons were on “The Uses of Water” - drinking, swimming, washing the floor, flushing the toilet etc. The children’s interest was starting to wane and I think everyone was pleased when the day’s lessons were over. It had not been anything like as bad as a “Terrible Tuesday” but all the volunteers had found it hard work.

... was slightly annoying for me as we were then not far from Khao Lak. I got home just before 5.30pm. The Russians however still had a fairly long journey ahead of them to Phuket. I didn’t envy them. It had been quite an enjoyable day out though and, after hearing of Lesley’s experiences, certainly worth the extra 10 I had paid for the deluxe version.
