... 8216;The Descendants’ with George Clooney and when we watched the film the following evening, not only did we recognise the bar, but also the same live band and bar staff we met were in the film too! Hilarious! All the scenes were filmed all over the island of Kauai and some on Oahu so to us the scenery on those films will be great to watch when we are missing Hawaii! I couldn't resist as we walked through, yelling out at one point "Run!", like Sam Neill did, and mentioned Raptors, along with the iconic words "Welcome, to Jurassic Park" :) It just felt right. 5.30pm and I headed in to Hanalei. After a quick stop at the supermarket, I parked up at Black ...

... Our destination is an extensive reef structure approximately one hundred metres off shore. The reef extends across the bay creating a natural wave barrier. The waves constantly break over the reef and the current is very strong. We are in the water less than ten minutes and we come across two turtles sheltering under a reef ledge. We swim further along the reef and three adult sea turtles swim across our path. The turtles are approx a metre in length ...
