... so, the third time was our last hoorah, and we were determined to get it right!

From our previous attempts, we had figured out what not to do real quick like, but we still wasn’t sure exactly what to do. This time we decided to slide back on our boards some and hopefully gain a little more control and maybe some more speed if possible. This turned out to be the best decision we had made all day. We went straighter, faster, and got more ...

... that the temperature is about 30 degrees lower than on the ground. The Sky Walk was incredible. The view is to die for, and the experience of being hundreds of feet in the air supported only by a harness and a narrow walkway, was very cool.

After the Sky Walk, we stopped by to grab some groceries and headed back to our hostel. I made a decision to stay in hostels for the duration of this trip for two reasons: to save money, and for company. Traveling in solitude for a month ...

We rushed down the last bit of the east side of Northland and spent only a day in Auckland and that included a quick trip over to the west coast beaches. We popped in and saw Heather in her shop, Rosie's, for an hour or so. I met Heather in 1996 on another very brief visit to Auckland where I caught my flight back to London. We lost touch ages ago but when I Googled her shop ...
