    Bungalow on the Beach

... island tied to the beach by a slender arc of pale sand. In fact the sand along this part of the coast seems to be uniformly fine and powdery, walking along the shoreline feels like pushing your toes into china clay or wet talc. Fabulous stuff (sorry). The slightly average roads have kept the development down to bungalow or palm tree top level, and the place has a lovely quiet backwater feel that's probably missing when the proper hoards descend in a month's' time; apart from ...

... rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody: "Mama Mia, Figaro!".

The sight as we pulled up in our van, of thousands upon thousands of people partying across a stretch of beautiful beach, was unforgettable! Our hostel owner reckoned 40,000 turned up that night, but whose keeping count!

We went through a dive through too which was fun, once I ...

... proved better and I joined in the yoga class and was surprised at how much energy I had. Day 3: my tummy had been growling at me, but it was manageable. The main thing I am missing is the flavours of food. I really feel the effects of being denied the sensation that flavour brings me. Energy wise I feel great! The colonic cleanse- this frightened me the most as I had no idea how I was going to get 5 litres if organic coffee through my colon. ...

    Pha-Ngan & Tao - Chang, Neon Paint & Lunar

... days for the worlds biggest all night party. The whole island has splatters of neon paint from parties past; on door handles, taps, salt and pepper shakers in restaurants, spread over the island like a disease. I'm pretty sure if you now shine a UV light on Ko Pha-Ngan it will glow. We booked into a friendly little resort right on Sunrise Beach about three days prior to the Full Moon and spent the first few days detoxing and keeping hydrated. All of this went to ...
