There was so much packing to do, as you can imagine, we have collected a few things along the way, Laurie made me dispense with a few things since I have had a little retail therapy! All is good though and we managed to squeeze everything in. Gea, our landlord, came around for a farewell drink, after she left we went into "Antica Enoteca" in via della Croce near the Spanish Steps for a pasta and a bottle of Nero d'Avola, yum, an early night, we have a big day ...

... and pink facade immaculate, the cathedral can be seen for miles around. We also viewed the austere but spacious Church of San Domenico against a brilliant blue sky from a quaint little bridge. While wandering the streets we met several generations of a family from Denver with strong ties to Regis! Of course, we were obliged to enjoy our daily gelato. Not deep enough to swim, but we ...

... the warmth and inviting atmosphere of a fantastic Tuscan spa. In the small town of San Quirico, you reserve the entire spa for your own selfish pleasures. Jason and I were able to get in wonderful spa time and completely escaped into aTuscan dream.

After our relaxing afternoon at the spa, we once again ventured next door to see Inis and drink a true Tuscan spritser of Aperol (orange liquor), prosecco and white wine. Inis's family was ...

    Arrivederci Roma, Buongiorno San Quirico

A travel blog entry by marioz on Sep 22, 2013

Well we had a nice early start to the day and caught a taxi to the Termini to get our rental car. The taxi driver charged us an extra €3 for our suitcases which was a bit of a rip off. Anyway after about half an hour we were dropped off to the garage to pick up our rental car.

We were really pleased that we had purchased a detailed Italian GPS map for the ipad otherwise it would have been really hard navigating our way out of Rome. It was also good that ...
