... option!!??). The photos indicate the great views. Next onto our very favourite Italian Duomo (perhaps after the Vatican). There is so much that is beautiful in here – the walls, the marble floor patterns, the sculptures, the most beautiful Library in the world with amazing Pinturicchio paintings, the altar and so it goes on. It is such a feast for your eyes. Today we saw the whole lot including crypt, which had very bright frescoes, and the magnificent Baptistery at the back of ...

Today we slept in a little and hung around Ambra for a while – had a good talk with Alexander as Emily has just left. Then we went to Silvia's place – looked at her new garden developments and then picked up Duche from school. Not deep enough to swim, but we ...

... the warmth and inviting atmosphere of a fantastic Tuscan spa. In the small town of San Quirico, you reserve the entire spa for your own selfish pleasures. Jason and I were able to get in wonderful spa time and completely escaped into aTuscan dream.

After our relaxing afternoon at the spa, we once again ventured next door to see Inis and drink a true Tuscan spritser of Aperol (orange liquor), prosecco and white wine. Inis's family was ...

    Arrivederci Roma, Buongiorno San Quirico

Well we had a nice early start to the day and caught a taxi to the Termini to get our rental car. The taxi driver charged us an extra €3 for our suitcases which was a bit of a rip off. Anyway after about half an hour we were dropped off to the garage to pick up our rental car.

We were really pleased that we had purchased a detailed Italian GPS map for the ipad otherwise it would have been really hard navigating our way out of Rome. It was also good that ...
