... rain started so we ducked into a nearby restaurant for dinner. Thunder and lightening and reasonable rain, but by the time we finished dinner it had basically stopped but we did make a purchase of an umbrella just to be safe. The weather forecast is for heavy showers over the next few days. Really we cannot complain as it has been excellent and sunny the whole time we have been away. And the only times it rained, we have been inside a museum or restaurant and completely avoided ...

Today we packed up and our villa in Chiusi to begin our next journey to Florence. We decided to stop on the way at a town called Montepulciano, a beautiful place where a scene form one of my favorite movies was filmed..... New Moon! So off we went, stopping a church just outside the town, which was not only gorgeous but has a spot in the centre of the church where if you clap it echoes many times. Not deep enough to swim, but we ...

... the warmth and inviting atmosphere of a fantastic Tuscan spa. In the small town of San Quirico, you reserve the entire spa for your own selfish pleasures. Jason and I were able to get in wonderful spa time and completely escaped into aTuscan dream.

After our relaxing afternoon at the spa, we once again ventured next door to see Inis and drink a true Tuscan spritser of Aperol (orange liquor), prosecco and white wine. Inis's family was ...

    Arrivederci Roma, Buongiorno San Quirico

A travel blog entry by marioz on Sep 22, 2013

Well we had a nice early start to the day and caught a taxi to the Termini to get our rental car. The taxi driver charged us an extra €3 for our suitcases which was a bit of a rip off. Anyway after about half an hour we were dropped off to the garage to pick up our rental car.

We were really pleased that we had purchased a detailed Italian GPS map for the ipad otherwise it would have been really hard navigating our way out of Rome. It was also good that ...
