Well, last minute craziness of trying to work, finish cleaning the house, double checking that packed everything will need, and triple checking that very thing all set with the pets and instructions, etc. for the pet sitters. Will really miss Milo and Reese's and hope they will be OK. Left for Albany around 5pm, after a brief stop at Dunkin Donuts to get coffee as no coffee all day as out of milk. Most of the trip so far has been in the pouring rain. Hoping ...

    Home Again

The hotel graciously allowed us to breakfast on the patio at 6 AM, before taking our taxi to the airport for the trip home. Fast forward to 12:20 PM EST for the fastest flight from Milan, Italy to Newark Airport we ever had, eight hours. It was an amazingly smooth, fast flight and for once in a long time absolutely no ill effects ...

Said goodbye to the beautiful Montpelier this morning. We reached the northern most point of our journey. The plan for the day was to head off to Queechee Gorge as recommended by someone we met in Portland. So we fueled the car, plugged the address into the GPS and headed off.
As usual, we kept off the interstates and took the back roads. We went through some pretty small towns, towns where we were the only car that ...

What a day of driving in the rain. We had showers, downpours, torrents, and "pull off the road" rain today. And then we had fog added in. Not a great day for driving! Other than driving, we went to the bball hall of fame in Cooperstown. Fascinating place. Had a great time. Then on to Albany and the Quality Inn with the associated Japanese restaurant. Had great meals and the most interesting food since we left the south. Tomorrow - off to ...

    Drive to Albany

The rain returned last night but looks to move out this morning. By the time we get to Albany the sun should be shining again. Breakfast at the hotel again featured those not eggs "eggs". Starbucks here we come. Not sure why Google maps routed us this way but we ended up on a two lane state highway that wandered through New Jersey and right through Princeton. Soon after passing Princeton we found the Starbucks we needed. Strict sign code in this township as ...
