... maar in een soort van negeermodus gegaan – ze verpestte het gewoon een beetje voor me –. Ik deed gewoon alsof ze er niet was en genoot lekker in mn eentje. De ingredienten zijn er zeker wel: een spannend maar makkelijk leesbaar boek, zon, strand, zee en weinig toeristen, en als klap op de vuurpijl voor nog geen zes euro kan je je een uur laten masseren. With miraculous timing we landed back at base just as the first drops of what are rapidly proving to be a tropical storm of note were beginning to fall, and the only way which I may get back to the mainland tomorrow morning will be if I'm lucky enough to be one of two homo sapiens selected for Noah's Ark which I am expecting to pitch up soon...

We moved into a couple of outbuilding rooms for four days, then had to move to the scrubbed clean and white tiled interior of the reception building for a while when the outside rooms became booked. The hotel was reasonable and clean, had a good front desk to arrange trips and had free wi-fi in the building (sometimes). The best part of it was its restaurant that sat out front literally ...
