Coorg or Kodagu the most sensuous place in southern part of India, actually it is border place between the two South Indian States; Karnataka and Kerala.
My first visit to the place was via Mangalore one of the major city in Karnataka, it was really a marvellous journey from there especially through the roads just before the Coorg's capital Madikeri.
I will add more to this later.........

Thirunelli is a small blip on the grand map that is India. It is famous for showcasing a 1000 year old temple. What is incredible is that this temple still remains as it did in another era. for Hindus this temple is of great importance as it is the ultimate place for the final rites of departed souls (at least next to Varanasi). We were travelling for some unfinished business with ...

The water isn't very deep, since boatman is poling us along, and eventually we end up about 100m away from the resort. We hop out, follow the footpath, cross the little wooden bridge (I'm feeling a lot like Survivor now) and find a little hut with two women waiting for us. They beckon us to come inside and then separate us into two rooms and draw the curtain between us. There's soothing music ...

Five very sweaty hours later we retuned absolutely exhausted from the walk - it was indeed very hot on the hill, although the cloud did manage to sweep across the peak just as we made it, making the scene more reminiscent of a day trip up Snowdonia than a hike in Southern India. Still, more coffee and food and we gradually recovered enough to move on again.
