After 2 great days at the beach we headed back over Henri Pittier national park and had a long day on the truck to a place called Barinas, we didn´t get there till quite late and were supposed to be camping which meant us putting up the tent in the dark (well Eugene mainly with me watching and directing from the side holding a torch). Fui al rio para el camp de hacer rafting por todo el día. Come almorzar en la bolsa. Es muy divertido pero poco espantoso. Fui a la Playa Grande Caribe Hotel para dormir. Tome el tren y al autobús a Caracas y montar en el avión a Estados Unidos.

Los Llanos Supposedly the best place to see wildlife in Venezuela, the Llanos was a disappointment. It teems with wading birds, and there are countless caimans and besides that we saw red howler monkeys (beautiful), lots of iguanas and an anteater. Los Llanos is brilliant! We have a crazy guide called Tony. He sees a Snake, Turtle, Iguana, it dosnt matter if we are on a truck or boat - he jumps!!!! From Merida, I went on a 4 day tour into Los Llanos (in English, the wetlands). Los Llanos is a sparsly populated region in th center of Venezuela; in the wet season it is all swamps. wir kommen viel zu frueh am flughafen von barinas an. das macht aber nichts, weil es kaffee gibt. nachdem wir unser gepaeck aufgegeben haben, warten wir auf den flieger, der uns nach caracas bringt. das flugzeug ist recht klein, grob geschaetzt vierzig sitzplaetze. dementsprechend interessant ist auch der flug mit der propellermaschine, die eben nicht ganz so ruhig in der luft liegt wie ein grosses passagierflugzeug.
