... repeated falls. My stubborn nature came out and I attempted it a second time with Daniel and Madison to cheer me on as I once again tumbled down the slope. We went down a green slope next, but apparently I had gotten into the habit of falling and couldn't make it more than a few minutes without falling. After a short break, our other coach, John, went down a final green slope with me...and I skied the whole slope without any falls! Somehow, skiing is still my favorite sport. ...
... but it is stunningly beautiful which makes falling more tolerable. And by tolerable I mean that when you are on your back looking at marshmallow trees you are too distracted to register pain.
4. Riding ski lifts to the top of the mountain is incredibly peaceful. If I didn't have to come back down on skis I could have spent my whole day riding up to see the "marshmallow" trees and listening to the occasional birds that broke the silence.
There's something holy in the moment when you come around a bend in the road and catch your first glimpse of the mountains. They stand there in a rugged, powerful strength; the sun breaking through the clouds to highlight the beauty.
