Today we have an early flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. We ordered the taxi to come pick us up at 5:30AM since our flight was at 7AM. I would say the only draw back is the location from everything else (which is a plus sometimes), but they wanted 500Baht for the pickup (it was only 400Baht from the airport on the way over). Anyway, can't really argue ...
Hua Hin, Thailand davidwshih... watch and I can have a go at home. The pineapple cost 80 baht and I had a 100 baht note out. She was well ahead of me because before I could suggest topping up with some 20 baht worth of bananas, they were already in a bag with a selection of other fruit. We can now recognise most fruits that Tescos will have on offer and not be afraid to buy. We also bought a polystyrene Bi-plane kite for Copter ( Mams son ). It was ...
Cha-am, Thailand tony-helenThe bat cave we went to on one of these nights was pretty cool. I have pictures. Again, it was about a 30 minute drive (everywhere we go is a 30-60 minute truck drive to get there), and about 12 of us girls went, and sat on picnic tables atop a house/cafe building and waited, staring at a cave, for the exodus to begin. There's a large cave on the left and a small cave on the left--the bats actually all came out of the smaller cave. Several, several thousands all flew ...
Phetchaburi, Thailand ktmcq143... girl who started the same day as me; Bianca, the girl who I've gone out to dinner in Cha Am and the resort with; and Davinia, the girl I took my day trip to Petchaburi with. Very sorry that they're going! Tonight should be loads of fun, especially with the knowledge that I finally get my day off tomorrow. Emma leaving makes me think back to when we began together. At first, I was so unhappy with the living conditions ...
Phetchaburi, Thailand ktmcq143... were created around 18 BE--I'm not quite sure what year that is. There were again, lots of mad stray dogs, and one came up behind me and snapped at my heels. I 'calmly' walked away but was really scared, as he was barking loud at me. At least I have my rabies vaccination. 7. We finished off the day at a huge, air conditioned (!) shopping mart. I didn't actually buy anything apart from an ice cream sundae at some place called Swensen's ...
Phetchaburi, Thailand ktmcq143... life their circumstances allow. They are either: a) Reintroduced into the wild if at all possible; or b) Kept in the most comfortable and natural surroundings possible with all food, water and veterinary care for the rest of their lives if they are too badly treated or hurt and could not function properly again in the wild. I had great respect for this and wanted to do all I could to help! I am catching a bus to ...

Bangkok, Thailand liamb... they were all a bit mortified this morning. Crazy...Makes me wonder what will happen on New Year's Eve. In some ways, though, it's just another day at the center. I will return soon to begin the afternoon feeding. But I had to let you all know that, for me, the Christmas spirit extends across the ocean to where you are all sleeping, visions of sugarplums dancing in your heads. I hope you enjoy the holiday (or the day off, for those who don't celebrate). Much love, Jessica
