    Day 13: We arrived at Port Allen (10-minute drive from our hotel) around 6:30 am for our full-day boat tour up the Na Pali Coast and snorkeling near Niihau. There were over 40 people on board, not including the 3 crew members. This was a LOVELY day and not too hot. We zipped up the coast and viewed the fluted mountains of the Na Pali Coast.     ... for decent beer and absolutely awesome home made potato chips. Back home at the condo, we relaxed with a mai tai on the lanai and noticed the next door park to be surprisingly bereft of chickens (or to be more specific, Red Junglefowl).... no doubt due to the cat we saw wandering across the grass. We have seen chickens everywhere, but very few cats and dogs. Not sure what to make of that, but we know what cats and dogs would make of the chickens.

    We woke up early today to make the calls and see if we are good to go on the hike. We were given the green flag so the excitement kicks in along with the rush to get out there so we could secure a parking space. They say people have turned back from the trail because they have not had a place to park, we were going to find a place one way or another. We grabbed a couple of Nutri grain bars from the gift shop along with two turkey croissant sandwiches and 2 liters ...

    ... didn't eat finish yet is 2 cans of beer! Jeff asks me, "Where are my glasses?" Hmmmm.... He remembers having his prescription reading glasses when we got gas. He heads back outside the airport to get BACK on the Budget rental car shuttle to go back and see if his glasses are still in the rental car.
