We flew to Kaua'i on 13th June, our anniversary, and we met our friends Tom and Helen at Honolulu airport before the flight and exchanged some travel stories. It is very good to see them and enjoy their excellent company. The flight was only half an hour, a real treat after some of the earlier lengthy affairs. The Island, formed by a volcano, is now a roughly circular, mountainous place which is very ...

Great sleep in my awesome king sized bed at the Waipouli Beach Resort on the east side of Kauai. The condo I have rented is in the town of Kapa’a which will be very central for driving around the island.

It was a quick 10-15 minute drive last night from the airport in my rental car - a Ford Focus. I could not see the surroundings because it was dark. But I know there was an ocean on my right side - just didn’t see it!

... pool ideal for kids. Nate was unsure of the water at first but then really enjoyed sitting at the edge of the shore and playing in the wet sand and having the waves wash over his feet. It was a lot of fun! We stayed for about an hour and then started the drive back to Princeville. Nate slept in the car and was ready for playtime when we got home. He fell asleep for bed that night early after the fun at the beach! (And so did we (you may be noticing a trend ...
