The north shore on very narrow roads

We were awake fairly early and were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow across the sea (it was raining, but only briefly). Helen and Alex went out for a pre-breakfast snorkel in the bay and saw 6 turtles! They are quite big, but just hang out totally unperturbed by the even bigger 'snorkel fish' gaping at them! We had a nice breakfast on the balcony looking out to sea, although needed to keep shooing away the cheeky birds that were swooping in for their breakfast! Then we ...

Today we have Pest Control coming in. Before you comment, no, it is not me. Our trip coincides with the quarterly spraying arranged by the Management Company for the complex. We have to ensure the exterior is fully shut up by 8.00am, leave a key for access and clear all surfaces so that they can treat them. Apparently the laws governing dancing are more strictly enforced than those that govern drug use here in the ...

Maui felt like the right place to begin our deferred time since we consider it to be "Our Happy Place". As usual, it didn't disappoint with its warmth, smells, surf, turtles, whales, and the turquoise water. Along with a whale watching tour, a hike to 4 waterfalls, walking the beach, a wonderful day of snorkeling at Honolua Bay, we spent many hours watching the incredible surf and the humpback whales. The surf was unusually high this ...

Aloha again, Today we took the road trip across Maui to the beautiful "Road to Hana" where we are staying for the next few days. We stopped for lunch at the recommended Charley's in Pa'ia and journeyed on our way through the twists and turns of the road to Hana. We did a little sight seeing at the Wind surfer capital of the US and continued on to visit the infamous Twin Falls. We hiked the trail thinking that we would come up on the water and go for a swim but realized that you ...
