Wow, we fit it all in, hard to believe. We are en route at 8:10 and we are laughing our heads off as Carrie and I are crowbarred into the back seat. We contemplated putting her on the roof rack but her hair would get messy and she wants to look good for the Cowboys when we get there. We travelled via the Great Smokey Mountain range determined to avoid the Atlanta Route at all costs.

... a 'driving' park, in that most of the park is accessible by car. That isn't to say that there aren't opportunities for hiking - on the contrary, there are many, many trails throughout the park and in fact the Appalachian Trail runs through it as well.
