Yesterday (Friday) we picked olives at the nearby Villa. I don't know why we bothered. The olives are infested with fruit fly larvae. The olives are lumpy. Giovanni opened one up and we could see the larvae in the meat of the olive. Yuck!!! But we did several trees anyway. And, I got to enjoy a picnic lunch of prosciutto, fresh bread ...
... in for some "hair raising" moments. My learning to drive on a manual has paid dividend so many times. Skills you obviously don't loose as it has been years since I have driven a manual. This dear little Fiat has performed magnificently, taking the "double-shuffles" in its wake!
Phillip did enjoy the spectacular views and it was a great decision to take that route.

... best pasta. After our meal I joined the group walking up to St. Francis' hermitage. I spent some time up there and walked around through the woods before heading back down to town. I made it in just as it started to get dark and walked around some of the little shops before they close. It's been such a long day that I opted for a shower and nap before dinner. But then you have this souvenir shop which was a bust for "Twilight" stuff. Another one of those situations -- Trim Castle, Forli and Sound of Music in Salzburg -- where they have an untapped gold mine among the most traveled people on the planet, Americans, and they seem to be ignoring it. Or maybe it's just my American ethnocentrism.
