Trek Day No.39 - Ocoee, Tennessee

... we walked into the village of Lynchburg and got ice cream and had our picnic. 45 minutes later we stopped at Wal-Mart and also stopped at a firework shop as it is legal to shoot them off in the campsite we are staying at tonight so that will be exciting. We rolled into camp at 7:30pm as we lost an hour again so while the cooking team cooked the rest of us set up camp ...

Woke up to another dreary day but it was warm. Biggest climb of the day was Blood Mountain. It went up about 1,000 feet but it wasn't too terrible going up, but going down was a different story. The climb down into Neels Gap was full of slippery rocks that made me lose my footing a couple of times. I planned on hiking past Neels Gap, but there is ...

... with the abundance of baked goods, apple doughnuts, apple pie, not to mention peach, cherry and apple cider. No sugar added apple pies are also available and are sweetened with Mercier’s cider. And though apples are a prime reason for visiting the orchards, you’ll discover so much more including other seasonal fruit like blackberries, sweet cherries, peaches, blueberries, strawberries, nectarines and plums. I can attest ...
