... full of tourists with big cameras!!! Here you dont bury bodies, oh no, you put them in a coffin and then put the coffin on display!! Julioīs family has a tomb, most middle class people do! After we went to the Malvinas memorial, it always has two guards, there is a flame always burning. It is conveniently placed directly opposite the clock tower gifted to Argentina by the British post independence! Then we went to San Isidro, a small suburb, good to get out the city ...
Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina _cope_... Such an emotional experience. canīt wait to see them up close! Those guys taught me a fiar bit of spanish and gave me lots of tips on security and whats good to eat. I was told the Steak called choriza was teh best, so as soon as I got in and showered it was off to a resaurant with Gato, a french guy staying in the bunk below me. Went to a really nteresting looking Restaurant packed with strange memorabillia but very nice. Paid about $10Aud for ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina jodyf... about how they can protect him as he is sure that he wants to carry on living in his very small home in the countryside (probably one the aspects of his life that has appealed to so many). Photos of him in his home show an extremely simple, possibly even impoverished life. It may have been clever marketing but his kitchen looked very basic with well-worn dishes in a simple drying rack beside the sink ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina jenandtony... dad to one of my Hillel events, toured around and ate the best food in the city (obviously J) and then we went off to Iguazu falls which is at the border of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. These water falls are the most insanely large things, ever. You MUST see pictures of them (let google be your friend). There was a huge storm there a couple days before we got there so the water was so full, it was almost absurd. We spent the first day walking around the ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina sferstWell Erin and I set out this morning with good intentions of doing lots of sightseeing ..... But it was raining ....... So we ended up shopping . The malls here are awesome quite upmarket. There are also lots of amazing boutique shops....heaps of leather and fur shops as well as Polo shops. We branched out of Recoleta and went to Palermo as well....did lots of walking as well as eating. It is a lovely city...even in the rain. Well better get some sleep.... Another busy day tomorrow .
Buenos Aires, Argentina cetrece... luxurious as far as hostels go, with Ikea-esq minimalist modern layouts, bars/clubs underneath, good breakfast and a good line up of events. In theory perfect hostels, but i didn`t really like either. I suspect it was the atmosphere - and at the risk of making a distinction, the sheer volume of short term tourists and flashpackers. They were both (but particularly FS) full of people with wheeled cases, skinny jeans, heels, dressy shirts and lots of money and not much time ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina brabzzz... Plata. When we got here we showered and relaxed a little then met with our guides for this leg of the trip. We then went out to eat at Florencia. It was interesting. The cooking took place in a building and the eating was outside it was a nice setting. Of course for some reason the waiter put all our stuff on one bill except for our guide! So that was fun figuring out. After that we came back to the hotel got ready for bed and Kira and I are catching people up.

Day 96 Tuesay 7th April - Buenos Aires Got an email about my flight and it's all re-booked. Also he said I can have a refund on the $270 I had to pay for my other flight, YAY ! Saw the Spanish guys in the communal area and they all looked dead lol. They remembered my name and I swapped email addresses with Juani as I took a few photos of him and his mates and he wanted to view them on facebook. They all left ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina oldhamguy... Could it really be that easy? To cut a long story short, from 11 AM to 6 PM we spend the day ping ponging between 4 offices at the airport. It is a seemingly endless paper trail, with documents having to be collected, signed, stamped, copied in triplicate, authorised and registered. Reminiscent of buying a train ticket in India but marginally quicker. All our fears of being shot down by over zealous paper shufflers searching for holes in our documentation are unfounded ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina barneyandpier... music but have never really listened to any tango music before so this is a new experience for both of us. The tango orchestra consists of a pianist, a violinist, a bass player and a guy playing a bandoneon (a bit like an accordion). We had popped into the cafe a few days previously and booked the 9.00pm show and as we were first on the list, we got the best seats right at the front on a table of four that we were to share with two others. We had ...
